Agents·Buy Plan AgentLive

What to write, what to hold, what to clear. Brand by brand, every month.

The Buy Plan Agent reads your live trading numbers and puts a decision against every brand in the book — reorder, hold, clear or exit — with the open-to-buy position behind it and aged stock in the same view. Then it goes to market with you.

The problem it solves

Open-to-buy usually lives in a spreadsheet that breaks every season.

Budget is committed months ahead across dozens of brands. Actuals land unevenly. Deliveries slip. By the time the position is rebuilt by hand, the buying window for the brand that mattered has already closed.

The cost is quiet and compounding — budget written into brands already carrying stock, nothing left for the brands that were selling, and aged stock still on the floor because clearing it was never the urgent thing.

What the agent produces

Every brand in the book gets a call each month, read off trailing sales, stock on hand, weeks of cover and what is already on order. The list is ranked by value, so the brands that move the number sit at the top. A brand whose need is already covered by stock on order says so, rather than asking you to buy it twice. Nothing is actioned until a person approves it.

In the market

The buy is made in a showroom, not at a desk.

Planning tools stop at the office door. Laminir goes to the appointment, records what you commit as you commit it, and keeps the open-to-buy position current while you are still in the room.

01

Walk in with the brand brief open

Season budget, what is left to commit, last year's performance, sell-through, aged position and the trading points to raise. On a phone or a laptop, in the showroom.

02

Record the commitment as you place it

Indents are logged against the brand and the delivery month as you agree them, before any purchase order exists. Nothing waits for the trip to end.

03

Upload the order from JOOR or NuOrder

Export the order and bring it straight in. It flows through to the stock system, and the commitment reconciles automatically once the purchase order is raised, so nothing is counted twice.

04

Watch the open-to-buy move in the room

The position updates as commitments land. You leave the appointment knowing what the buy cost you and what is left for the brands you have not seen yet.

Indents count from the moment you place them. A commitment made at market is money spent, whether or not a purchase order exists yet. Laminir treats it that way, which is why the number in front of you at the next appointment is the real one.

Between markets

The buy is two weeks a year. The book is every week.

Most of what a buy is worth is decided after it lands — what gets repeated, what gets cleared, and how fast. The agent works the book every month, not only when you are in a showroom.

01

Reorder inside the season

A brand selling through ahead of plan with the window still open is a repeat you can still place. The call comes while the brand can still ship it, not at the next appointment.

02

Clear before it costs you

Cover and aged position read every month, so a brand building stock is flagged while a 20% exit still works. Season-end clearance is what happens when nobody looked in month three.

03

The plan reforecast as actuals land

The plan set in January stops being the plan by March. Open-to-buy recalculates against what actually sold, so the budget you carry into the next market is the real one.

04

Overspend caught in the month it happens

A brand committed beyond its plan shows as over, not as a surprise at reconciliation. There is usually still something you can do about it.

A monthly call on every brand, whether or not you are buying that month.

The decision stays yours

The agent does the analysis. The buyer makes the call.

Every recommendation is approved, deferred or overridden by a person, and the reasoning is kept.

An override replaces the number and keeps the shape of the plan, so the seasonality survives your judgement. The note explaining why stays with the brand. When it comes up next season the reasoning is still there, even if the person who made the call has moved on.

Every recommendation is constrained by your declared margin posture and strategic anchors, so nothing drifts from what the business has committed to.

// The effort argument. Every competitor sells insight; nobody sells the // absence of work. This is the section a boutique owner reads twice. // ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

What you stop doing

Touched by hand once, at the start.

Connect your systems in the first week. After that nobody exports anything, rebuilds anything, or re-keys anything. The analysis arrives made.

  • No export from the point of sale before you can look at anything
  • No spreadsheet rebuilt by hand ahead of every buying trip
  • No orders re-keyed from a confirmation email weeks later
  • No notebook reconciled against the system after market
  • No wondering which version of the buy plan is the current one

The time back is the part buyers notice first. The part that shows up in the numbers is the errors that never happen.

Every manual step is a chance to get a figure wrong — a column dragged down one row too far, a currency left unconverted, an order typed in from a confirmation with a digit missing. In buying, a wrong number is a wrong order, and you find out six months later when it lands.

Set it up once. The cycle runs itself.

Write the brands that are selling. Clear the ones that aren't.
